Exalted in Christ – Ephesians 1:13
In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation – having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise.
Child of the Lord God Almighty, consider who you are in Christ Jesus, and a river of praise and gratitude to our heavenly Father will overflow your heart’s banks. Rejoice in the understanding that God chose you to be part of His family before He laid the foundation of the world.[1] Glory in the knowledge that you are complete, and do not allow the faintest shadow of inferiority or fear to cloud your mind. Recognize that through your belief in Jesus Christ, He eternally sealed you to Himself and granted you every spiritual blessing in heaven.[2] Though you have done nothing to deserve this privilege, our Father has chosen to bestow upon you the gift of salvation by grace through faith, and you had merely to receive it.[3] God has adopted you into His family, has given you full rights as His son or daughter, and made you a joint-heir with Christ.[4] He has lifted you out of spiritual poverty and blessed you with the riches of His kingdom.
In Christ, we stand as those redeemed, purchased by His blood, forgiven, and washed clean of the shame of our sin. He has removed the veil from our blinded eyes and turned our stone cold hearts to flesh,[5] so we might comprehend and embrace the message of the cross and receive everlasting life.[6] He has placed us on the rock of truth and given us a spirit of power, love, and discipline.[7] We have the Holy Spirit of God living within us, preparing us to stand in glory with our majestic God. As part of the noble class into which Jesus brought us, we have a privileged status that enables us to go boldly before the throne of grace, drawing near to the King of heaven and earth.[8]
Never lose sight of who you are in
Christ. Walk in God’s love, trusting in His
faithfulness to you, knowing that He is for you; therefore, none can stand
against you.[9] As one saved by
grace, celebrate the security of your position in Jesus, and rejoice in knowing
how deeply He loves you. Glory in the
place reserved for you at the royal table as a welcome family member, for your
holy position in Christ is the highest in all of heaven and earth.[10]
Rooted and grounded in love
Born into the hope of salvation
Washed in the blood of the Lamb
Set on the mountain’s foundation
Clothed in a garment of faith
Crowned in rubies, sapphires
Shod in silk slippers of truth
Blessed beyond wildest desires
Guarded by armies of angels
Led through the fire and water
Protected and shielded by grace
As the King’s deeply loved daughter
