All Things New – Revelation 21:5

And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.”

Our God makes all things new.  He makes all things beautiful in its time.[1]  He fills emptiness with vibrant life; He replaces the ugly and incomplete with the magnificent and whole.

In the beginning, He created the heavens and the earth.  He created the light to replace the endless darkness, and He gathered the seas into their boundaries, causing the dry land to appear to shape the formless and void earth.[2]    His creativity is without end, and at the designated time, He will once again make all things new, creating new heavens and a new earth.[3]  Our eyes have not seen, our minds have not conceived, and our dreams have not imagined the blessings that God has prepared for His beloved.[4]  He, who lifts us high, placing us upon solid rock, will replace our lamentations with a melodious new song of joy and praise.[5]  He will make our hearts rejoice throughout the endless ages in the place with gold-paved streets He has created for His children to spend an eternity with Him.[6]

Blessedly, we need not wait for heaven to live in joy, for happy are those who place their trust in the Lord God and who abide with Jesus.  The Lord calls His people out of imprisonment to sin into the beauty of righteousness, and He holds us close to Himself to keep us from slipping back into putrid cells lying deep within a dungeon.[7]  Through His grace, by the faith He breathes into His beloved, the Lord gives new life to what was dead, and He raises those who turn to Him to the heavenly places where He resides in glory.  He gives believers new hearts, hearts of flesh to replace our hearts of stone,[8] and He writes His law on them, making known that He is our God.[9]

Through the renewing of the Holy Spirit, the Lord transforms His beloved into new creations in Him.[10]  Therefore, as those renewed, cleansed, redeemed, and beautified, we have joy breathed into our souls.  We need accept nothing less, for no cloud can diminish the light of Christ that shines in those who love Him.

Live in the joy Jesus offers you, and enter into the holy land He has opened to you.  Delight in Him, for He, who makes all things new, has given you a living faith and an abiding hope that you might walk in them, today, tomorrow, and forevermore.[11]
