Holy Purpose – Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans that I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope”
God created each of us for a holy purpose; He fearfully and wonderfully made us in His image.[1] He breathed life into us,[2] imbuing each of us with unique gifts that we might fulfill that purpose. He calls us to use that which He has given us to bring honor and glory to His name and to further His kingdom on earth.
Though our vision of how God desires to use us may be unclear, we can hold onto the certainty that God has plans for us, good plans, worthwhile plans which we should pursue with eagerness, expectation, and gladness. As we commit to using our strength and abilities to bringing God glory and to serving Him, we will find that He supplies and multiplies provision for every need,[3] and we can know with assurance that He will reveal His plans to us as we follow Him. We will lack nothing required to complete the honorable service He sets before us[4] as He equips us through the inspiration of His living Word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.[5] He will arm us with faith and the promise of His constant help, so we can perform wondrous works in His name.
As you consider God’s plan for you, ignore the carping of the devil and his minions saying that you have nothing to contribute, for the contrary is true. The Lord has given you remarkable gifts, and by His grace and through His power, you can achieve the unachievable and witness the unfathomable since He designed you for kingdom service, a service of eternal worth. You are God’s “workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works.”[6] The Lord tells you, “Do not say that you are too young, too unprepared, too broken, too tainted, too uneducated to minister in My name, for everywhere you go, I will be with you.”[7]
If fear and insecurity are holding
you back from fulfilling God’s holy purpose for your life, break free. Bow down before the Lord as He places the
mantle of honor reserved for His disciples upon you, and allow Him to lead you
into the regions of service and ministry to which He has called you. Serve our righteous God with all your
strength and devotion, lift up His name with gladness, and be filled with joy
as you perform the kingdom works the Father has preordained for you.[8]
